First, it protects your child around water by sounding a loud alarm at the base station when the lockable watch is immersed in water, for example when a child falls into a swimming pool, lake or pond etc.

Second, the base station will sound an alarm if a child wanders outside the set perimeter of 5-50 metres. Drowning Statistics                                              

Drowning is the second highest cause of unintentional injury or DEATH in the 0-5 age group in New Zealand and Australia. In the USA, child drowning is the number cause of death in children under five in Florida, Arizona and California with a ranking of number two in a dozen other states.

The most common cause of drowning is accidental immersion. In most cases parents were close by. Toddlers and young children aged less than 5 are at most risk of drowning, making up 61% of child drownings and 72% of hospitalisations for non-fatal drownings. As toddlers become more active and mobile (1 to 2 years), home swimming pools and spas become more of a risk. Three to four year olds are more likely to drown in creeks, streams, drains, ponds, lakes and rivers close to the home environment (32%).
